DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Project Manager is the responsible to oversee Twenty-Five (25) Medical Support Assistants (MSA) and their performance and coordination of admissions, reception, scheduling, patient travel processing, customer service operations, and administrative support activities.
All employees assigned to this contract must comply with applicable federal and state infectious disease control requirements, including required screenings, vaccinations, training, and documentation related to workplace and healthcare safety standards. Compliance with OSHA and healthcare facility regulations may be required based on job duties and work location.
Responsibilities:
- Complete screening, interviews, reference checks, and provide a minimum of three qualified resumes for review for this need within five business days of the request.
- Coordinate leave requests with the government to ensure consistent coverage daily on all shifts.
- Responsible with all the activities associated with the MSA as follows:
- Customer Service.
- Patient appointment Activities.
- Reception Activities.
- Teamwork.
- Equipment, Material and Supply Support Activities.
- Admissions Activities.
- Patient Travel Voucher Activities.
- Clinical Support Activities.
- Statistics, Reporting and Other Administrative Activities.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred - Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing healthcare administrative operations.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience overseeing large teams (preferably 20+ employees).
- Experience managing Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) or similar healthcare administrative staff.
- Experience working in a federal healthcare environment such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or military treatment facilities preferred.
- Experience with patient scheduling systems and healthcare administrative workflow.
- Ability to coordinate staffing coverage across multiple shifts.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of patient scheduling, admissions, reception, and travel processing procedures.
- Ability to prepare reports, metrics, and administrative documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to manage employee attendance, leave coordination, and performance issues.
Location: Bethesda, MD 20892
Schedule:Due to the nature of the hospital, the operational hours start at 24 hours per day/365 days per year, it is understood that some contractor staff would begin a shift later in the day as it is not anticipated that one shift would exceed 12 hours. The work week would not exceed 40 hours per contractor staff.
All MSAs are considered emergent personnel under the Clinical Center policy, "Designation of Emergency and Non-Emergency Employees for Periods of Inclement Weather or Other Temporary Closings" and must report for duty when other federal employees are dismissed from duty due to inclement weather conditions or for any other reason. The Clinical Center is operational 24 hours a day/7 day a week/365 days a year.
Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.
